Value Village

Value Village on Hastings isn't quite what it used to be. The prices have crept up to nearly retail levels (think $13 bowls and $25 glass trays), which honestly defeats the purpose of thrift shopping. While you'll find a decent mix of everyday brands and the occasional designer piece spread across two floors, the basement area can get pretty chaotic and hard to navigate. The clothing selection is massive, but you'll need patience to dig - and deep pockets to actually buy anything. I'd recommend checking out smaller thrift stores or Salvation Army first, unless you're really into the treasure hunt aspect and don't mind paying up. At least the staff is generally friendly, and parking is available even if it gets hectic during peak hours.
