Treasure Cottage - SideBySide Children's Village Society @ Moncton St

3800 Moncton St, Richmond, BC V7E 3A7, Canada
90

While this Steveston Village thrift shop has some interesting finds like art prints and knick-knacks scattered throughout, their recent pricing strategy is a major turnoff. I remember when it was much more reasonable, but these days they're charging boutique prices for donated goods - we're talking $200 leather jackets that you could get new for less. Still worth a browse for books, puzzles and smaller items under $10, but bring your wallet if you're eyeing the clothing or furniture. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful with loading purchases, I'll give them that. A shame about the prices though - I'd suggest hitting up RAPS or Richmond Hospital Auxiliary instead for better deals.

Ashby @ W Cary St

3010 W Cary St, Richmond, VA 23221, USA

Ashby is absolutely worth seeking out on W Cary St – I can easily lose hours browsing here. The beautifully curated displays feature everything from boho-chic dresses to quirky accessories, with a notably strong selection of brands like Free People and Zara. While primarily focused on women's fashion, there's a small but solid men's section too. Their pay-by-the-pound bin is a treasure trove for the patient digger, and their consignment program offers great store credit. What really sets this place apart is how meticulously organized everything is – you're not wading through chaos to find the good stuff. Perfect spot for scoring trendy sunglasses, unique jewelry, and vintage-inspired pieces without breaking the bank.
